Since our inception in 1978, Duro-Last Roofing, Inc. has been the pioneer and one of the largest manufacturers of custom prefabricated single-ply roofing systems. This position of distinction has caused industrial leaders, corporations, and sources of specifications throughout the country to recognize our technological contributions to the roofing industry.

Duro-Last has met or exceeded all major fire and wind code requirements, and regional approvals as necessary throughout the country. Duro-Last has been approved by Factory Mutual as a 1-60,1-90, 1-105, 1-150 and 1-210 roofing system. Duro-Last is also listed by Underwriters Laboratories as a UL Class A material. Evaluation services ICBO and NES have merged to form ICC-ES, which has evaluated Duro-Last for the International Building Code (IBC). The Duro-Last roofing system has been approved by IBC and MIAMI-DADE for use in their respective jurisdictions.

Duro-Last is proud to be a charter partner of the ENERGY STAR2 Roof Products Program. The ENERGY STAR label indicates to building owners and managers that the Duro-Last white membrane can save them money on energy costs due to its high reflectivity (reflects over 86% of the sun’s ultraviolet rays).

Duro-Last is also a charter member of the Cool Roof Rating Council (CRRC) and a member of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC).

Duro-Last participates in all major technical committees in the roofing industry, plus the American Society of Testing Materials (ASTM). The bottom line: the Duro-Last roofing system can provide the consistent watertight integrity that building owners expect.

The Advantages of Precision Fabrication

Most leaks in single-ply roofing systems are caused by imperfect seams. And the more seams that are done on the job site, under all kinds of weather and work conditions, the greater the potential for leaks down the road. The diagram below shows a typical 50,000 square-foot roof, piece together from rolled roofing membrane. More than 13,000 linear feet of rooftop seaming are required. By comparison, only 1,300 linear feet of seaming are required with the Duro-Last® roofing systems (as illustrated by placing your mouse on the image below). Accessories such as stacks and curbs are also precision fabricated in our manufacturing facility, minimizing the potential for future leaks.

Place your mouse on the image below to see the difference.
When you install a Duro-Last precision fabricated roof, over 85% of the seams are completed in a factory-controlled environment before the roofing systems is delivered to the job site. By eliminating most of the on-site seaming, you virtually eliminate the potential for leaks - and add the advantages of faster, quieter installation, less maintenance, and reliable roof performance for years to come.

Product Description

The Duro-Last roofing system membrane is a proprietary thermoplastic formulation consisting of resins and plasticizers, stabilizers, biocides, flame retardants and U.V. absorbents. A weft-insertion knitted scrim that is laminated between two layers of film gives the membrane its strength and durability. The Duro-Last membrane is available in white, tan or gray.
Custom Prefabricated for Every Building

Duro-Last uses custom prefabrication to provide quality-assured products by performing 80-85% of membrane seaming in a controlled environment. Because most rooftop problems are caused by installation errors, architects, specifiers, consultants, contractors, and building owners can have peace-of-mind knowing that only 15-20% of Duro-Last seaming is done in the field.

Every Duro-Last project is pre-engineered and designed to address the specific needs of each roofing application. Additionally, prefabrication reduces material waste associated with roll-goods systems.

Sizes

For ease of handling as well as reduced field seaming and installation time, Duro-Last welds materials into large sheets, up to 2,500 square feet (232.26 square meters), as specified by architects, contractors or installers. The installed systems weighs .25 lbs. per square foot.

Realize Cost Savings With Energy- Efficient Duro-Last Cool Zone Roofing System

The Duro-Last Cool Zone roofing system is one of the most energy-efficient and environmentally friendly roofing products in the industry.

The Cool Zone roofing system is an environmentally sound choice for architects, building owners, facility managers, and other specifiers because it can significantly reduce a building's energy requirements and combat the urban heat island effect. The white membrane is the only single-ply membrane rated by the EPA Energy Star Roof Products Program that has retained reflectivity of greater than 86% after three years of weathering. This high retained reflectivity, combined with proven durability and virtually maintenance free performance, can save energy and money for building owners.

The Cool Zone roofing system can also help in obtaining valuable LEED™ certification for buildings. The U.S. Green Building Council has developed the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system to help in the design and construction of buildings that minimize negative impact on occupants an the environment.

LEED certification is becoming an increasingly important consideration throughout the building and construction industry, as more attention is being focused on sustainable building technology.

Perfect Fit for Metal Retrofit

The prefabricated, single-ply Duro-Shield® metal retrofit roofing systems can be installed over an existing metal roof without an expensive tear-off. It's the cost-effective, long-term way to protect buildings against rain, temperature changes, interior drips, ice build up as well as rust and corrosion.

Because the Duro-Shield roofing system is a flexible membrane, it expands and contracts with the weather, virtually eliminating the risk of rooftop leaks.

The contractor select and installs the appropriate insulation to fill the existing roof's metal flutes and adds another layer of insulation to provide a flat surface for installation. The Duro-Shield roofing system is then unrolled over the insulation, pulled right and mechanically-fastened to the roof deck. Individual sections and customized flashings for stacks and other penetrations and heat-welded together on-site to create a monolithic, watertight covering.

Heat-Welded System Delivers Easy Installation and Very Low Maintenance

Hot air welding is used to bond all Duro-Last field seams. Welds can be made with either a hand held unit or a walker welder, eliminating the need for chemicals, torches, and other unsafe seaming methods.

The Duro-Last roofing system is non-curing to provide excellent welding ability for the entire life of the roof system. A patch, curb, stack or any other alterations can easily be added by heat welding the new Duro-Last membrane or accessory to the existing membrane. Once installed, the Duro-Last roofing system is watertight and vitually maintenance free.

The Duro-Last roofing system can be easily installed by an authorized contractor right over the most new or existing substrates. The need for costly tear-offs and disposal can often be eliminated.

"World's Best" Warranty

Once the Duro-Last roofing system has been installed by an authorized Duro-Last contractor, and after passing inspection by a Duro-Last quality assurance specialist, Duro-Last protects commercial and industrial building owners with comprehensive, transferable, 15-year full warranties or 20-year prorated warranties. Both provide maximum protection with no exclusions for consequential damages or roof system damage caused by ponding water.
